Reclaiming Sexuality: How do Queer Womynx Show Up?

The act of reclaiming is the act of gaining knowledge. Join Shanae Adams aka HonestlyNae for a discussion based on the 5 circles of sexually. How Do Queer Womyn show up sensuality? What have you been taught on pleasure and beauty standards? How do Queer Womyn show up in their intimacy? What is Queer Womynx vulnerability and what examples are available of queer womynx emotional closeness? This 101 introductory workshop provides a foundation to generate conversation centered on the experience of Queer Womynx. Will you show up?

HonestlyNae is a Sex & Sexuality Professional who loves talking about pleasure, kink and communication dedicated to removing the stigma and taboo that comes from talking about and enjoying sex and sexuality.  While pursuing her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Missouri she served as a Sexual Health Advocate Peer Educator on her university's campus. It is here that she discovered a passion for sexuality education and an adept ability to present these topics with a unique flair and an engaging personality. This personality is translated on her YouTube channel Honest Sex with HonestlyNae where she provides normalization, explanation and melanated representation. Her favorite sexuality topics include pleasure, kink, and communication. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Counseling and hopes to one day open a sex-positive mental health facility for and by queer/people of color.

Life School Workshops: Money, Money, Money

As queer money makes up nearly 14 percent of U.S. disposable income, it means the queer community heavily influences the way America spends. It means, as a community, we can use our money to influence the national dialogue and enact positive change for the queer community. Our purchasing power is the reason we’ve seen an increase in marketing to the queer community. To build power and influence we must continue to drive decisions with our dollar. That shows up in various ways, how we invest our money, where we spend our money, and how we participate in traditional institutions. In this workshop we will play a game of trivia with financial concepts and issues specific to the queer community. Facilitated by Deja Foster, this interactive discussion focuses on need to know topics for the LGBTQ professional.

Deja Foster is a Client Services Associate with Fish and Associates. In this role, she effectively handles client operations and day-to-day account management tasks like transferring funds or making adjustments to keep clients on track as they chase their goals. Born and raised in Memphis, Deja is currently pursuing a Master’s in Financial Planning and Counseling from the University of Alabama. She cares deeply about the community and is the Financial Literacy and Empowerment Chair for the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals Chapter

Adrienne Muse, a self taught visual artist (based in Los Angeles) who until four years ago had only "doodled" as a hobby. After meeting her wife, Janeeka in 2012 and discovering her passion to create, she decided to take a leap of faith, left her high paying banking job, and moved to Los Angeles. Upon marrying her wife, Muse was disowned and became homeless with her wife and two children. The turn of events led to a crises-induced depression for Muse; but it also ignited another fire. Adrienne began painting live at events around Los Angeles. Soon her artwork caught the attention of television networks like Oxygen and VH1. What started out as a stress reliever, became an obsession, and she quickly vowed to live the rest of her life as an inspiration to others, through her art.
